Road Import Arrivals
For EU goods arriving into the UK from 1st January 2021 at non-inventory linked ports, there is a requirement to pre lodge an import declaration before arriving at the EU port.
Once the goods have arrived, the declaration needs to be amended to 'arrived' by:
- changing the Declaration Type [SAD box 01] from IMD to IMA for example,
- adding the Transport Country and Transport Identity [SAD box 21] if not already declared,
- specifying a reason for amendment - 'Goods arrival' is sufficient,
and submitting a declaration amendment.
This arrival is required by the end of the next working day following the arrival of the goods.
Arriving Pre-lodged Declarations
To aid the arrival of these declarations, a context menu option "Arrive Declarations" has been added to the Road Import Consolidation, Road Import Shipment and Road Import Job lists.
Taking the Road Import Job list as an example, click on the Imports module and then the Road Jobs option.
Locate the Job in the list which is ready to be arrived and right-click to access the context menu options. Click "Arrive Declarations".
The following dialog will be displayed.
Enter any missing Transport Country or Identity values as appropriate.
Click the Begin Process button.
Sequoia scans the selected Job for all pre-lodged declarations and automatically sends the amendment messages.
The Job tasks will update with the results of these amendments (i.e. the Entry Route will update from H if successful). The E2 reports will be produced as normal.
The Arrive Declarations context menu option is also available on the Road Consolidations and Road Shipments lists.
Taking a Road Consolidation as an example; Sequoia will look for all Shipments associated with the Consolidation and then look for all Jobs associated with those Shipments.
These Jobs are then scanned for all pre-lodged declarations and these declarations are then arrived.
Checking for Rejected Declarations
In order to prevent having to check each individual Job for rejections to these declaration amendments, a default Find Declaration search criteria has been added.
From the main menu, choose Find and then click Find Declaration
Expand the menu and click Rejected Arrived Road Import Declarations
This will load the appropriate criteria into the search controls.
Scroll down and click the Search button.
Any pre-lodged declarations which have received a rejection from HMRC will be displayed in the search results list.
